Slavery was rebranded; but the use of free labor has been a cornerstone of American infrastructure and the country doesn’t know how to live without. The White Elite are addicted to power over, meanwhile those they control struggle to create and maintain power with. The devisive tactics by White Supremacists and Black Pawns alike are long-lived barriers keeping the chains locked on the have-nots by the haves. The combination of ubuntu and kujichagulia sheds light on an individual’s ability to transcend these barriers while understanding the burden of transcendence depending on one’s context.
